I am really loving the custom quilting lately and I am starting to get a little more creative and a little less frightened! This quilt was pieced by a customer at The Quilting Bee http://www.thequiltbee.com and was given to me to custom quilt for her. I quilted this on a 22″ Innova. I am so proud of this piece that I have to admit, I didn’t want to return to our customer! She was gifting it to her daughter for Christmas. I think I want to make one like this for myself now!
Hello there, it has been a while and I suppose I have a few things to share…..
Well here I am trying to catch up on some projects now that the holidays are far behind us. Last week I quilted this adorable baby quilt for a friend. I used the pantograph “bubbles” by Urban Elementz and it looked really cute when it was finished. She used a soft fleece for the backing so it will be super cuddly for her new nephew!
I also quilted a Christmas quilt, just a wee bit late, or very early, however you care to look at it! Luckily it was for my mom so she was very understanding.
And finally today I finished a quilt for a friend that was promised to her months ago. The top and backing have been sitting in my sewing room for what feels like forever. Yesterday I finally took it to work at The Quilting Bee, http://www.thequiltbee.com/. I quilted it on the Innova with Autopilot. The pattern is called “Bubbles Everywhere”. I love this pattern and love the finished look on the quilt.
I ended up machine stitching the binding for the first time and don’t mind how it turned out at all. I stitched it first to the front of the quilt then turned the binding to the back and edge stitched in the seam on the front. Love the backing of this quilt too!
I finally finished the snowman quilt of my aunt’s. Glad to be finished and I really like how it turned out!
Well hello there! Rose I hope you are reading this because this one is for you. Recently my friend Rose commented that I am not blogging very often and I think that she is correct that I needed to get over here to The Savvy Quilter and start sharing more. Besides with the Christmas season drawing near I am starting to make gifts and if I don’t document them how am I ever going to remember what I did? So here is the first completed gift for Christmas 2014. This is my first hand applique project, I used linen for the body of the pouch and wool for the applique. I have to say that I love working with wool and I am really happy with how it turned out for a first hand applique project. I also find it very relaxing to do some hand sewing in the evening. I can’t wait to see the recipient of this gift open it at Christmas since it is a very special project for me. Thanks for stopping by so I can share project 1 of the season!
I just finished this cute little manicure wallet using a Noodlehead pattern. I love all of her patterns. This one is for a ten year old’s birthday party coming up on Saturday. I think that I will be making more of these!
I just finished my latest quilt top. It is a Jaybird Quilts pattern called Daybreak. I used mainly batiks and a white tone to tone print for the background. These are some of my most favourite colour combinations too. I will share again once I have it all quilted.
